Thanks for the comment. I hope you didn't infer that my "haven't taken the time" point was directed at you -- People jumping on this meme and I don't think they have.

I think you'll have to go back to Steve for further explanation of gestures, though.

Right. I don't think that links are everything. But they're a huge part of the Web of hypertext where we've been living and writing for the last ten years or more.

I also agree that something is afoot. Many things, actually. I'm sure, because I trust and respect Steve -- even when I don't understand him -- that Gestures are a big-foot development.

I've taken a *lot* of time trying to understand what Steve means by gestures. "In and of themselves they send signals of direction, resource allocation, political traction or lack of it, and so on." he says, in "Anatomy of a Gesture": http://blogs.zdnet.com/Gillmor/?p=191 . Well, that's not clear. At least to me. Certainly not clear enough to warrant not linking where linking is obviously useful. What's "dead" to Steve is still live to me. Each to his own, I suppose.

By the way, if you could point me to a nice, tight, clear explanation of what Gestures are, I'd did it. Thanks.
