Digipede does MSDN

John and Dan are doing an MSDN Webcast Tuesday at 10:00 AM.  It is titled, Scaling SOA in Financial Services with Grid Computing for .NET.  Described as:

Enterprise architects in financial services are looking to service-oriented architectures (SOA) to address many real-world problems – brittle systems with tight interdependencies, data stuck in single-purpose silos, and applications that don’t scale to meet growing demand, to name a few.  But implementing an SOA can also expose new scalability issues.  New high-performance computing (HPC) offerings from Microsoft and its partners are ideally suited for scaling out compute-intensive components of an SOA.  Using real-world examples from financial services companies, this presentation will describe how to grid-enable compute-intensive analytic services for use in an SOA.

I’ll bet they talk about Digipede in there somewhere.  😉

Ultimate .NET Developer’s Charity Auction

Jamie Cansdale, author of the excellent TestDriven.net, has organized several charity auctions to help people in Malawi.  In his words:

I have decided to organize a charity auction of a number of licenses for .NET developer tools. All proceeds of the auction will be given to Wells for Zoë, a charity dedicated to increasing the availability of safe drinking water and water for irrigation in rural areas of Malawi. You can read more about the project on their website or blog.

One unusual thing about this charity is that all travel and admin expenses are paid by the charity’s founders themselves. Therefore all donations go directly to sourcing the much needed equipment on the ground in Malawi. You can find out more about the equipment that is needed on the donation page here.

The software is being auctioned on eBay (they complete at the crack of dawn Pacific Standard Time on Wednesday):

If you want any of these excellent products, bid away!

Dan, the Digipede Network Product Manager, has just announced an MSDN Webcast he’ll be doing: Introducing Object Oriented Programming for Grid (OOP-G). The event is Tuesday, April 11th @ 11:00 PDT.
This is the first of two MSDN Webcasts he has scheduled. I’m sure he’ll make them both informative and entertaining.
Go to his post (MSDN Webcast: Object Oriented Programming for Grid) for more information and a registration link.
